![]() The 1953 Tonka Toys Cab over design was unique in 1953 because the front grill had three vertical lines in the grill that were reduced in size to form an inverted "V" shape. The cab of this truck as all Tonka Cab overs were a clever design of a tabbed " upper" section that slid into a channel on the lower section forming the cab design. The bed of this truck was made of wood and these had held up surprisingly well. Later models of the semi trucks would be made with a pressed steel bed. |
![]() This front view shows the grill detail better, the light catches each pressed line in the grill shape. |
![]() This side shot really shows the beauty of these terrific toys trucks, it is no wonder they have become a popular item to collect. |
![]() The back ramp Tow hook could be used to "save" stranded drivers in less capable vehicles. |
