Tonka Toys Private Label 1959 Red Owl Semi
in 1959 Tonka created the Red Owl Private Label Semi . the silver paint on the semi is quite delicate and is and is seldom found in terrific condition. Note the Tonka toys decal on both doors of the semi Cab. Most private label semi's did not have the Tonka decal in addition to the private label decal. The same silver paint was used on the roof of Tonka United Van lines private label semi truck trailer it also is seldom found in perfect condition. Note the door handles in the truck shown below have been replaced, and while the red owl decals on the back doors are heavily yellowed from age most collectors would rather have original faded decals then new replaced ones.
